The current schedule for the Teacher Training Program workshops, along with course fees and an online payment facility, appears on the right column. For certification all 8 workshops must be completed and a final paper returned within 30 days of course completion.
Workshop Descriptions
NOTE: DATES FOR EACH WORKHSOP ARE FOUND IN THE COLUMN AT THE RIGHT.
Please note that each workshop includes: Asana, meditation, pranaayama, Sanskrit practise, teaching methodology, reflections, readings from sacred texts such as Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita. You will learn contraindications and adjustment techniques for different body types and for different levels of experience.
Workshop A
History of Hatha Yoga, Patanjali and Ethics for Yoga Teachers
The history of Hatha Yoga is a very interesting subject that is often confusing. The chapter for this section of our manual has been reviewed by Georg Feuerstein. It is designed to clarify and enlighten the Yoga student regarding the development and progression of what we call Yoga today. You will learn about the influence of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism as well as the importance of having a code of ethics. We will discuss and review the work of Patanjali regarding the eight limb path, obstacles on the path, asana ingredients and mantra practise. Techniques on how to further study Patanjali are also provided.
For this workshop you will need to purchase the book Patanjali's Yoga Sutra translation of your choice. I recommend: Georg Feuerstein, - B.K.S Iyengar - Lynne Cardinal, Mukunda Stiles.
Workshop B
Hatha Yoga Pradipika as a source for Pranaayama, Mudras, Bhandas and Kriyas.
Designed to provide you with a clear experience of the benefits and power of practise beyond Asana (posture). Mudras ( seals relating to hand gestures) Bandhas ( body locks designed to raise and sustain energy ) and Pranaayama (breathing techniques); how and when to use them, how and when to teach them.
For this workshop you will need to purchase the book: Hatha Yoga Pradipika translated by Brian Dana Akers. You will also need a neti pot.
Workshop C
Surya Namaskar ( Sun Salutations), A-B-C Chandra Namaskar (moon Salutations) - 2 variations, review of standing postures, plus balancing postures, including some arm balancing postures, other variations of arm balancing postures will be explored with the inversion segment.

Twists and Backbends
Every little detail will be explored. Demonstrating, teaching, practicing for different body types, contraindications, adjustments for different body types and levels, communication as a tool to adjust, breathing, Sanskrit and practicum. Inversions and Seated Postures

Workshop F
Gross Anatomy and Physiology
Designed to educate you regarding the mechanics of your body. You will learn skeletal and muscular anatomy in detail. How does the body move, what creates shift and what prevents it. How to read bodies and provide the proper guidance for your students. Endocrine and Nervous system anatomy will also be included and will be reviewed in all other workshops.

Workshop G
Subtle Anatomy — Chakras and Kundalini Yoga
In this workshop you will learn about the chakra system and how it applies to asana practise and everyday life. You will learn specific Kundalini practises and mantras to create shifts and to balance all systems.
