Vinyasa Yoga Vinyasa Yoga is a style of hatha yoga where postures are linked with the breath. Continuous flow and mind-body awareness create physical and mental strength and flexibility for people of all starting points.
All our classes are taught to music, ranging from Sanskrit mantras to tribal drumming. The music supports flow and nurtures mental focus. Relaxation is experienced with the benefits of the Crystal Singing Bowl a versatile product that opens, balances and tones the chakras (energy points of the body.) The sounds from the bowl affects the body on a physical, subtle and causal level. Combined with the yoga class the experience will leave you feeling completely refreshed. Vinyasa Flow Whether you are just giving yoga a try or are a committed student, open level classes are sure to meet your needs. Listen to your body and work at your own pace; our teachers' guidance will help you to choose the right variation for your body. Breath awareness, yoga philosophy and a continuous sequence of sun salutations, standing postures, back bends, hip openers, twists, arm balancing postures and inversions are sure to help you create physical strength and flexibility while nurturing mental focus and expansion. Excellent class for overall well-being.
Hot Flow A dynamic sequence of postures designed to increase stamina and build strength from the core-out while improving flexibility. Although no previous yoga experience is needed a fitness foundation is necessary. We heat the room at 36.5 degrees which is the bodies natural temperature. This warm heat allows for an opening of the muscular and skeletal systems. Helping to eliminate toxins, it promotes overall good health and vitality. Excellent class for those interested in detox or weight management or to keep the body supple and core strong to support athletic lifestyle.
Intermediate Hot Flow This is a dynamic class, with longer holds and more advance variations. Students participating must have a grounded and committed yoga practice.
Gentle Flow Moving slowly and nurturing alignment principals these classes are excellent for absolute beginners and more advance students who want to enjoy gentle movement and longer holds.
Free Your Hips Weak and tight hips can throw your spine out of line, creating unnecessary physical discomfort. By balancing the muscles and lubricating the joints that become tight from sitting, walking, running and cycling you will experience first hand the freedom of flexible hips. This is an ideal class for people with back problems or for cyclists and runners who want to prevent or reduce the occurrence of sport-related injuries.
Core Flow Core Wisdom! Because many ask us what core is we have added a more defined description of this class. Its important to understand that "core" moves much deeper than the rectus abdominis. Although it may have visual appeal to have the "washboard" ab look, it does not necessarily mean that we have a strong core, and without proper balance, an overdeveloped rectus abdominis at the expense of other muscles can actually create imbalances. Core strength can be described as a balance between various muscles — many that we don't actually see. They include: Erector Spinae, Multifidus, External and Internal Obliques, Transverse Abdominus, Hip Flexors, Hip Abductors, Gluteus Maximus, and Gluteus Medius; these are but a few of the most important core muscles. It is estimated that about 70% of our overall strength comes from our core. Therefore, strengthening the core enhances all physical strength and improves any physical activity. There are many studies that promote the importance of a balanced core to reduce, eliminate, or prevent back pain. It also improves our posture, which in turn improves our breathing ability, which then improves our energy levels and mental attitude; so, we see again the Correlation that is initiated at the Core to create a sense of, lets say, overall Elation! From a Yogic Perspective, our core is not only our centre of physical balance but it is also our centre of balance as a whole. Physically strengthening the core has a ripple effect on our mental attitude and our sense of self. It improves our confidence and our speech. A core class is still a flow class with all the benefits of movement synchronized with breath. But, we move a little slower, ensuring that you will connect with the deep muscles to improve your balance, your posture, your overall strength, and comfort in the body. Let's face it, if the body is unhappy or in pain, it creates alot of mental distractions..... Variations make the class available to most levels of experience

Our members have reported that a regular vinyasa practise has:
Every week we hear why individuals of all walks of life and all ages continue to love their vinyasa practise. Everyone receives more then what they had anticipated. Yoga is a wonderful physically ~ emotionally and Spiritually uplifting and balancing practise that is open to all. There are many different styles of yoga, its a matter of finding the one that inspires you and honours your body. Always remember that not every posture and not every style is for every body so when in doubt be gentle and ask. We are happy to take time with you and help find modifications and adjustments that will support you. If you have health issues always discuss beginning yoga with your health care practitioner. Unrolling the mat is a symbol of mindfulness and benevolence for I. Care, patience, dedication, openness and passion are ingredients that support a long life of yoga. Grunting, holding the breath, practicing with ego can cause injury and prevent further enjoyment on the mat....
At the end of every class we chant AUM Shanti Shanti Shanti OM Peace Peace Peace.... This is an opportunity for us to connect with the healing power of sound, with our voice as a tool to support balance. Shanti is Sanskrit and means peace. We chant first in Sanskrit to honour the essence of peace and the lineage of yoga and then in English to honour that we are modern day Yogi's. Simply put Om is the sound that underlies all sounds and AUM emphasizes that everything is flow, having beginning, middle and end with a continuous eternity.
